Head of Parliament Igor Corman guarantees that the Association Agreement with the EU will be ratified in the near future. He made assurances in the program “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.

The Speaker said he is sure that the MPs of the coalition will vote for the ratification of the document, but he possesses information that independent lawmakers Iurie Bolboceanu and Mihai Godea will also vote in favor. “Voting will be nominal-based so that the country knows those who voted for this document of major importance,” he stated.

Igor Corman voiced hope that MPs of the Communist opposition will also ratify the accord. “The Communists’ message is an anti-European one. They said that they do not agree with some of the provisions of the document. I didn’t understand what exactly doesn’t suit them. The Association Agreement enables reviewing its provisions. They should submit proposals for amending it and take part in the ratification. I would like as many MPs as possible to ratify this very important document,” he said.

The Head of Parliament also said that after the November 30 elections, the Association Agreement with the EU will be declared a national project and he is optimistic that Moldova will be thus able to shorten the road to the EU. “The provisions of the Association Agreement with the EU will become a key policy for us. That’s why I consider that our country can cut down the path to the EU,” he stated.
