Head of Parliament Andrian Candu admits that the state institutions are controlled politically, but not by the PDM and not to the extent to which it is said. The Speaker made such statements in the program “Pahomi” on Realitatea TV channel, IPN reports.

“All the state institutions are subject to a particular influence because they didn’t go through a reform that would ensure increased independence from the political class. But it’s not fair when they say that a state institution is fully controlled by a particular party. An institution does not mean one person. Not all the employees can be controlled politically,” stated Canndu.

He noted the assertions that the PDM controls the prosecution service, the National Anticorruption Center and justice are speculations. “These are speculations that we can debate daily. But we do not have time. We will provide very serious argument when time comes. Prosecutor General Corneliu Gurin comes from civil society. He worked alongside Igor Botan. He had not connection with the PDM. I personally speak with Gurin once in two-three months, when something needs to be presented in Parliament. I have two civil lawsuits pending and I don’t know who the judges are. The PDM supports the prosecution service reform the most, but it is not the author and initiator of this reform,” explained Candu.
