Prime Minister Pavel Filip started the June 23 meeting of the Cabinet with a message of gratitude to the Parliament members who 27 years ago, on June 2, 1990, adopted the Declaration of Sovereignty, IPN reports.
The Premier addressed a congratulatory message to the lawmakers, saying they, regardless of the political conjuncture, had the courage to declare the country a sovereign, unitary and undividable state. In this connection, Pavel Filip underlined the importance of continuing the way chosen by the Republic of Moldova.
“Our road wasn’t easy, but at least today we know where the Republic of Moldova goes. Our place is near the member states of the European Union and we should achieve this objective, as we aim,” stated the Prime Minister, noting that the Sovereignty Day is an occasion for joy for the people.
