The South emergency medical assistance station was outfitted with modern medical equipment within the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects Scheme “Kusanone”. The modernization project completion ceremony held in Cahul on October 24 involved Japan’s Ambassador to Moldova Masanobu Yoshii, IPN reports.
According to the station’s director Gheorghe Miroshnichenko, the South emergency medical assistance station in 2014 received US$ 80,000 worth of grants from the Government of Japan for purchasing medical equipment and computers. They bought electrocardiographs, defibrillators, tonometers, computers, printers and a server. The equipment was distributed to the emergency medical assistance units and substations in Cahul, Taraclia, Cantemir and Leova.
“The purchased equipment is welcome. It positively affected the provision of emergency medical assistance at the pre-hospital stage. We sincerely thank the Japanese people for the offered financial support,” stated Gheorghe Miroshnichenko.
The Program “Kusanone” was launched in Moldova in 2008.
