Șoseaua Hâncești St in Chisinau, the section between Sihastrului St and the entrance to Ialoveni city, is being repaired. The municipal authorities said that this artery, which connects Chisinau to the south of the country, has never been repaired, IPN reports.
The length of the section that will be rehabilitated is 3.4 km, with eight lanes of traffic. Officials of the Chisinau City Hall noted that in order to reduce the discomfort of traffic participants, the works will be organized in stages, on segments and lanes.
"In 2023 and 2024, we carried out an international study to see how we can intervene. This road has never been fully rehabilitated, and the road surface is damaged, affecting the comfort of travel and exceeding the permissible noise level. Experts concluded that the road can be effectively rehabilitated and its lifespan can be extended by an average of 15 years if appropriate modern techniques are applied," said mayor general Ion Ceban.
According to the execution contract, the works are to be carried out during up to one year, and the value of the project is 81.2 million lei.
The City Hall also announced that this project is a premiere for the municipality of Chisinau as advanced technologies for repairing concrete roads will be used in order to ensure durability and comfort for all users.
