The Șor Party’s presidential nominee Violeta Ivanov has submitted 25,000 signatures in her support and other documentation to the Central Election Commission to be registered in the race.
After submitting the documents, Ivanov told reporters that “the signatures were collected in a diligent way, with all the precautions respected, because safety was first”, considering the pandemic.
“I am sure all of (the signatures) meet the requirements of the law and of the CEC guidelines,” said Ivanov, adding she can’t wait for the campaign proper to start on October 2.
The CEC has seven days to verify the application before deciding on the registration.
So far, the CEC has registered Renato Usatîi of Our Party, Andrei Năstase of the Dignity and Truth Platform, and Tudor Deliu of the Liberal Democratic Party.
Pro Moldova Party’s Andrian Candu was denied registration over the failure to meet geographical representation requirements. Igor Dodon filed for registration on Monday.
