The MPs of Șor Party demand that Minister of the Interior Ana Revenco should tender her resignation. They accuse her of exerting pressure on employees and of replacing inferiors with “convention persons”. The MPs noted they will propose a simple motion against her if she does not resign, IPN reports.
In a news conference, MP Marina Tauber said they possess information from inside the system about the pressure exerted by the Ministry of the Interior’s administration on employees. “What is officially invoked is nothing but a smokescreen and we actually witness an extensive staff filtering-out process that has nothing to do with meritocracy and professionalism. They just resort to abusive dismissals and banal replacements of old staff with people loyal to the current government,” stated Marina Tauber.
According to her, the current minister should resign. “If this demand is ignored, we will initiate a simple notion to dismiss her by Parliament decision,” said the MP.
She also said that the parliamentary group of Șor Party boycotts today’s siting of Parliament as this became a banal voting machine that lacks legitimacy.
A simple motion can be submitted by at least 15 MPs. The parliamentary group of Șor Party consists of six members. The party’s leader Ilan Șor hasn’t attended any sitting of the current legislature.
