Soprano Valentina Nafornita says she loves Chisinau the way it is, even without an Eiffel tower or a Statue of Liberty. She loves the city for its greenness, its lively colors and the value it bears. Alongside her husband, Mihai Dogotari, she sang one of the versions of the anthem of Chisinau.
The Moldovan soprano, currently residing in Romania, told Info-Prim Neo that she enjoyed singing the anthem composed by Eugen Doga and previously sang by Sofia Rotaru and Nadejda Cepraga. “I was honored, I always feel nostalgia and warmth in my soul when I sing it. Chisinau is the city where I studied. It's different from other cities. My personality was formed here and I would like to live here. I feel like home. Each season has a certain color and I'm attracted by its colorfulness”, she said.
The soprano is now living in Bucharest and travels a lot through other countries, but says she enjoys returning to Moldova and Chisinau. She likes visiting the park and alleys, to watch the people who always seem to have familiar faces. “It's a pleasure to return after a long absence. Chisinau gives me the energy I need, it's the city I care about, even though there are cities more famous and more beautiful, as others claim”, declared the artist.
Asked about what the city was missing, Valentina Nafornita answered it was love from its inhabitants. “People need to care more about it. I accept Chisinau the way it is, I don't need extraordinary monuments to love it. I bid the best to our capital and I urge its inhabitants to take care of the place they live in, to love it more as this is the only way to make it prosperous and attractive”, she declared.
{Valentina Nafornita, 24, is winner of the “Singer of the World 2011” award and of the People's Favorite award at the World Canto Contest in Cardiff, Wales. She was born in Cuhnesti village, Glodeni district. The singer says she achieved her biggest dream as she made Moldova famous on the world's greatest scenes.}
