Son-in-law kills father-in-law with meat hammer

A 28-year-old man from Chisinau killed cruelly his 50-year-old father-in-law by hitting him in the head with a meat hammer. Adrian Jovmir, spokesman for the General Police Commissariat, has told Info-Prim Neo that the suspect’s wife aged 23 on March 17 reported to the police that her father went out of the house on March 15 and did not return. As a result of investigations, the police established that the situation was different. According to the police, the two men had a quarrel on March 14. The son-in-law hit the father-in-law with a meat hammer in the head. The older man died as a result of his injuries. The attacker’s wife woke up and found her father in a puddle of blood. Under the threats of her husband, she helped him hide the crime. They took the body to a waste dump outside the city and burned him. Afterward, the woman reported her father’s disappearance to the police. The carbonized body with visible signs of violent death was found near Maximovca village of Anenii Noi district on March 23. The suspect is under arrest. He faces 8 to 15 years behind bars for murder. The couple has a one-year-old child. The woman’s mother works aboard.
