The Central Election Commission decided to increase the number of ballots intended for the 30 polling places where Transnistrians can exercise their right to vote and for the polling places established in four cities of the EU, IPN reports.

CEC secretary Veaceslav Agrigoroae said the decision to increase the number of ballots for each of the 30 polling places up to the highest limit of 3,000 was taken following requests from people living in the eastern districts of Moldova and in order to ensure the smooth running of the voting process.

At the suggestion of the CEC president Alina Russu, the number of ballots designed for the polling places set up in Italy’s’ Ferrara, Estonia’s Tallinn, Lithuania’s  Vilnius and Latvia’s Riga will also be raised to 3,000 each given that more Moldovan citizens voted there in the first round of the presidential elections.
