A shortage of hygiene products, including toilet paper, is witnessed in the kindergartens situated in the Centru, Botanica and Buiucani districts of Chisinau municipality. The General Division of Education, Youth and Sport of Chisinau said that hygiene products are now supplied to preschool education institutions from the made savings in the amount of 40%.
Contacted by IPN, the Division’s spokeswoman Elena Vorotneac said the Division used some of the savings to buy hygiene products for kindergartens as an exception. The Division is not obliged by law to do this. The savings were distributed proportionally by districts and now the kindergartens in the three districts face a shortage of hygiene products. This is to be covered by institutions’ managers who can engage the parents in the process.
The Division asked to assess the needs per child in the kindergartens and will earmark additional financial resources to fully cover the costs of these products in the 2019 municipal budget.
The Division’s administration assured it will monitor the process of supplying hygiene products to the municipal preschool education institutions.
