Some of the residents of Chisinau municipality resort to different methods to avoid paying for water supply and sewerage services, SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” said, noting that 94 cases of illegalities committed by private individuals and legal entities were examined during a week, IPN reports.
According to the public utility, in many cases the water meters become damaged as a result of frost as the company’s warnings to protect the meters from frost were ignored. The other cases refer to unauthorized connection to the public water supply and sewerage system, breaking of seals put on meters, water leakages and unauthorized removal of the meter.
The company’s competent commission so far this year dealt with 421 cases, 321 of which referred to damaging of meters due to frost. Each case is examined thoroughly and the required measures are taken, with the circumstances and explanations of the end-users being taken into account.
