The Socialist Party is to elect its president and honorary president during its 19th Extraordinary Congress, to be held on March 23.
The decision to convene the congress was adopted at the meeting of the party’s board today. The meeting was also an occasion to issue a statement on the current affairs. In particular, the party said it “condemns the activity of the government, the president of the country and the PAS party”.
Socialists also stated that they “strongly oppose” plans for a constitutional referendum on EU accession. Instead, they declared that “freeing Moldova from Sandu and the PAS” was their top priority, expressing readiness to cooperate with all the political forces that share this goal.
