The Party of Socialists of Moldova announced it will support the Communist Party’s call to dismiss the Government. “We are ready to positively respond to the call of the chairman of the PCRM Vladimir Voronin to create a common front in the political campaign against the ruling alliance,” the Socialists’ leader Igor Dodon said in a news conference, quoted by IPN.
“We are ready to discuss a common political agenda with the Communists if Voronin is sincere in his call and intentions. We must leave the personal frustrations and ambitions apart as the state interests are more important. It is important not to lose the county,” stated Igor Dodon.
He also said that for the first time in the last two years, he had a positive exchange of opinions with the leader of the Communists. It happened on October 17, after the discussion of the censure motion in Parliament. This does not yet mean that they reconciled with the PCRM.
According to Dodon, the left-wing parties must join forces and form a government coalition. If Vladimir Voronin’s message is sincere, it is a good start in achieving the final goal.
Igor Dodon said the Socialists will vote for the censure motion against the Leanca Government on October 22. “We support any action that will enable to remove the current government,” he stated.
Contacted by IPN, Communist MP Artur Reshetnikov said he welcomes the solidarity gesture of the Socialists, underlining the PCRM’s call was addressed to all the political forces of Moldova. “We, the Communists, said that all those who are not against us, are with us. We called upon all the political parties, regardless of their ideology and color,“ he said.
