The Socialist parliamentary group proposed a simple motion against Minister of Finance Octavian Armasu in the June 9 sitting of Parliament. This is the third such motion made by the Socialists so far, IPN reports.

Socialist MP Corneliu Furculita explained that Moldova’s economy is suffocated by debts, while the internal and foreign debts increased considerably. Things in the budgetary-fiscal sector do not stand well at all. “The situation in the area of public finances is catastrophic. The state budget revenues for the first quarter of 2016 decreased by 9.4%, while the expenditure fell by 2%,” he stated.

Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu said the motion will be submitted by the Parliament’s Standing Bureau and the date when this will be examined by the legislature will be set afterward.

The simple motion against the minister of finance was preceded by similar motions against Minister of Education Corina Fusu and Minister of Defense Anatolie Salaru. The first motion, against Corina Fusu, is to be debated today, while that against Anatolie Salaru – next week.
