The Party of Socialists (PSRM) said it will nominate candidates for the posts of mayor in the communities where new local elections will take place on May 2, after the Central Election Commission completes the relevant procedures. In a press statement, the PSRM noted it will take part in these elections in order to win and to bring order, justice, social equity and sustainable development to communities, IPN reports.
According to the PSRM, during nine years the Republic of Moldova and during 11 years the Chisinau municipality were governed by persons who, instead of developing the country and Chisinau, destroyed the few good things started before them. These divided society, invoking all kinds of pretexts and sterile arguments to hide their inability to manage the affairs.
The Socialists said the incompetence and irresponsibility had only one result – the Republic of Moldova is among the poorest countries of the world, while the capital city is among the ugliest cities. “The administration of the country and of Chisinau during the past few years can be characterized by such words as corruption, influence peddling, embezzlement of funds, property stealing, chaos, excessive bureaucracy, disrespect for the ordinary people and lack of development views,” says the statement.
“This time again, as often earlier, everyone is trying to unite not for a noble cause – for a better life for the country’s people – but against someone”.
