The Socialists drafted a Parliament decision by which they demand annulling the results of the census, dismissing the persons responsible for its organization and investigating how sums of millions of lei were spent, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué of the Party of Socialists.
The party’s leader Igor Dodon told a news conference that the census must be annulled because it was taken with serious violations of the procedures and the data were thus collected incorrectly.
According to Igor Dodon, the Party of Socialists received thousands of complaints about the census. Many families simply weren’t visited by census takers and found out that the census takers filled out the questionnaires instead of them, if they weren’t at home. A lot of people complained that the census takers wrote down the data with the pencil and refused to write ‘Moldovan’ for identity and ‘Moldovan language’ for the spoken language.
In the May 29 sitting of Parliament, the group of Socialists will demand that the MPs vote to annul the results of the census taken on May 12 – 25.
