The members of the Socialist parliamentary group blocked the rostrum in the assembly hall of Parliament in protest at the fact that a number of their proposals weren’t included in the agenda of the November 19 sitting. The MPs demanded that Speaker Andrian Candu should have a discussion with the group to analyze the state of affairs, IPN reports.

“In fact, what is going on in Moldova represents usurpation of the state power. This also refers to the refusal by the Speaker to accept our requests. We addressed a number of issues and now blocked the Parliament rostrum. The Socialists insist on the dismissal of those who took part in the stealing of the US$1billion, on the payment of compensations for covering a part of the maintenance costs and on early elections,” said the chairman of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon.

Head of Parliament Andrian Candu said all the proposals submitted by the Socialists were put to the vote according to the procedure. He expressed his indignation at the fact that the Socialists demand that he should come to report to them.

The Socialist MPs who blocked the Parliament rostrum had different sound-making devices and caused noise. After a bill was examined, a break of 30 minutes was announced for Andrian Candu to meet with the Socialist lawmakers.
