The Socialist People’s Party (PPS) proposes setting up the National Salvation Coalition. According to Victor Stepaniuc, one of the party’s co-chairpersons, the coalition should include the political parties that want to prevent the political, social and economic failure of Moldova. The center-left parties are the first that are invited to dialogue, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The political forces must bring the irresponsible oligarchy and the chaos and anarchy caused by political extremists to an end. Those who want to work for Moldova and for its modernization should propose something. The politicians must understand that only together they can achieve something,” Victor Stepaniuc told a news conference on November 8. He expressed his readiness to discuss with the PCRM. “The Communist Party is not an ideological opponent. We have certain conflicts of interests with some of its members as we left this party not accidentally. On the other hand, we must admit that even if Tarlev, Lupu, Turcan and other persons left the PCRM, this party has a powerful potential owing to the authority of its leader Voronin and to the personalities and ministers that it includes. Ideologically, it is a center-left party and we could cooperate with them,” said Victor Stepaniuc. As to the dialogue with the parties of the ruling alliance, Victor Stepaniuc expressed his skepticism about the possibility of them forming part of the coalition. In the same news conference, the PPS launched its platform. The plan for modernizing Moldova for the next 10 years envisions creating 400,000 workplaces, establishing a competitive education system, and working out an attractive family and child protection policy. The party also intends to launch efficient socioeconomic programs intended for persons working abroad, to promote youth policies and to provide real support to the small and medium-sized enterprises. The Socialist People’s Party is a left-wing, anti-oligarchic party.
