Socialist Party chairman specifies party's position on referendum

The chairman of the Socialist Party of Moldova Vladimir Dorojko on September 2 called upon the people to take part in the September 5 constitutional referendum. In a televised debate program two days ago, a member of the party, Petru Sornikov, urged the voters to boycott the plebiscite, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The Socialist Party of Moldova advises the Moldovans to vote “in favor” at the referendum,” Vladimir Dorojko said in a news conference. He stressed that the political crisis can be overcome only by participation in the referendum. “This gesture is a challenge by this person, who aims to mislead the voters,” Vladimir Dorojko said, referring to his party colleague's statements.
