The Party of Socialists (PSRM) decided that its MPs will not participate in the spring session of the legislative body. In a press statement, the party argued that the parliamentary majority, two weeks before the elections, intends to adopt a number of populist decisions and appointments in a hurry.
The PSRM considers this is an ordinary political show staged by the failed government. “All the laws, including those of a social character, must be given three readings according to procedure,” runs the statement.
The party noted the appointment of Marian Lupu as president of the Court of Auditors is fully unacceptable. The responsible posts in the state should not represent places for hiring people close to the Democratic leader Vlad Plahotniuc. All the laws needed by the country and society must be adopted by the new Parliament after the elections of February 24, 2019.
