The plot located between the Embassy of Ukraine and the Embassy of Qatar, which forms part of the Park “Valea Morilor”, was illegally sold by the votes of the Chisinau councilors after the Socialists left the meeting of the Chisinau Council in protest, the leader of the Socialist group Ion Ceban said in a news conference on May 20, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Party of Socialists
According to Ion Ceban, even the most corrupt component of the Council, in the person of the Communists and the Liberals, didn’t dare to privatize this plot. “We warned that this plot cannot be privatized. It should keep its real purpose, of protection area. Otherwise, an ecological catastrophe can happen. The Socialists will not tolerate the manifestation of corruption in the Chisinau Council and will make public all the new cases of the kind,” said the group’s leader.
Ion Ceban also said that a new building is to be erected on that plot, which is inadmissible. He called on the municipal councilors to repair this foolish mistake and to annul the vote on this and other decisions that will have a negative impact on the city and its residents.
