The Party of Socialists’ candidate for mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban promises he will launch the most modern applications to pay particular taxes online and to make appointments with a doctor online if he wins the mayoralty. He said complaints about the work of municipal enterprises could be submitted online as well and the availability of parking places could be monitored online too, IPN reports.
In a news conference given near the Technical University of Moldova, Ion Ceban said these ideas can be implemented as there are several IT companies in Moldova that are ready to launch these applications free. These innovations will not yet substitute the traditional methods as not all the citizens of Chisinau will have access to them in the absence of Internet connection.
“These innovations will be additional and could be used only by those who want. We understand that many of the inhabitants of Chisinau would find it difficult to use these applications of the “smart city” concept. That’s why I assert that if Chisinau does not have the possibilities of other capitals, we should take the first steps. I’m sure that in a not very distant future, the smart technologies will become an integral part of the management of Chisinau city and will make peoples’ life easier,” noted Ion Ceban.
According to him, with the assistance of such innovations corruption will disappear and the residents of Chisinau could obtain or extend urbanism certificates and could pay taxes transparently and by avoiding long lines. In the future, information about the applications will be published under the rubric “My Chisinau” on the City Hall’s website.
