The social services “Mobile team”, created this year in five districts, received by a car. The keys to the district heads were handed over by the Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Pirkka Tapiola, IPN reports.

Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Valentina Buliga said the goal of the “mobile teams” is to offer home assistance to persons with disabilities and families from isolated settlements. The vehicles were purchased within a partnership between the European Union, Keystone Moldova, the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family and the local authorities.

Ambassador Pirkka Tapiola said that when speaking about a modern society, the people must assume certain responsibilities both towards them and towards the others. What the EU does in Moldova refers to decentralization and the responsibility of the district centers becomes greater.

Keystone Moldova executive director Ludmila Malcoci said that 125 children with serious disabilities from five districts will benefit from assistance offered by “mobile teams”. These are Anenii Noi, Ungheni, Sangerei, Dubasari, and Falesti.

The head of Anenii Noi district Vladimir Vazdoaga said that with vehicles, the “mobile teams” will be able to reach more families. The head of Dubasari district Grigore Policinschi said the quality of the provided services will increase. In Dubasari district alone there are 50 children with the first disability degree.

The total cost of the vehicles is about €37,000.
