Social Democracy Party founded its youth wing

The Social Democracy Party (PDS) formed on Sunday, November 19, its youth organization. More than 100 delegates from different towns and villages of the R. of Moldova participated in the founding conference. Within the frameworks of the conference, the leader of the party - Dumitru Braghis declared that PDS pays particular attention to youth, who, in the opinion of the cited source, should have an important role both in the party and in the political social and economic life of the country. PDS wishes to permanently hear the voice of the young, that they promote their ideas and solutions for important actual issues. The government party proves to lack youth supporting policies and this is why young persons will not back the communists, added Braghis. As well as pensioners, youth represents the most vulnerable social category in the R. of Moldova, declared the leader of the PDS. Braghis mentioned that about 34% of the number of the party’s members are young persons aged between 18 and 30. Oxana Oprea, the head of the municipal youth organization of PDS declared that at the moment, youngsters are limited in what concerns their right to study, to work etc. The chair of the Youth organization of PDS, elected by the majority of votes is Ion Lisa, who, in conformity with the statute will also run for the party’s deputy chairman. During the conference, a declaration has been adopted, mentioning that at present, young people do not receive any support from the state, especially, in the domains of education, healthcare, providing of workplaces and houses. This situation, on the other hand causes other problems as unemployment, migration, trafficking in human beings, marginalizing some groups of young people etc. PDS youth request that the communist government stops antihuman policies, massivemigration of youth abroad, and that it ensures constitutional rights and freedoms, via working out concrete programs. The Social Democracy Party was formed on April 15, 2006. The chairman of the party is the former Prime-Minister Dumitru Braghis. The party is represented in the Parliament by 4 MPs, who entered on the lists of the former “Moldova Democrată” Bloc. On Saturday, November 18, the party founded its women’s wing.
