It is snowing in the northern districts of the country and the national public roads are being cleared of snow and treated with salt and sand, IPN reports.
The State Road Administration said that vehicles with snow removal equipment are working on roads in the districts of Briceni, Edinet, Ocnița, Dondușeni, Drochia, Râșcani, Glodeni and Fălești. Motorists are urged to drive carefully.
Weather forecasters said a polar air mass has pushed the temperatures down and there will be sleet in parts of Moldova. As a result, glazed frost will appear and a layer of ice will form on the roads. Nighttime temperatures during the next few days will vary between -1 and -6 degrees Celsius.
