People selling early spring flowers, like snowdrops or crocuses, face bitter fines. Lilia Eladi, consultant of the Ministry of Environment, told Info-Prim Neo that according to the Administrative Code, people collecting and selling flowers included in the Endangered Species Book will be fined with 50 to 100 administrative units, which means between 1,000 and 2,000 lei. Lilia Eladi added that because it’s getting warmer and the first flowers appear, checkups will be performed on the city's streets and roads near forested areas, where flowers are usually sold. 126 plants are included in the second edition of the Endangered Species, released in 2002.
