The high temperatures of up to 13 degrees Celsius recorded in Moldova on December 31, 2020 are caused by air masses that come from the Mediterranean Sea.
Gennady Roșca, head of the Forecasts Division of the State Hydrometeorological Service, has told IPN that temperatures of up to 13 degrees Celsius were recorded today in southern Moldova. They are by 5-6 degrees Celsius higher than the normal values for this period. It was as warm during the last days of 2019 and at the end of 1970.
On January 1, 2021, the temperatures in Moldova will vary around 10 degrees Celsius. There will be 0 degrees Celsius on January 2 and 3. Until January 7, the temperatures will oscillate between 0 and 6 degrees Celsius. Rain is forecast all over Moldova for January 5 and 7. It will also rain in parts on January 6.
After January 8, the temperatures will drop below 0 degrees Celsius at night and during the day and it will snow.
