Snap mayoral elections will be held in Sălcuța village of Căușeni district, Ialpujeni village of Cimișlia district and Braniște commune of Râșcani district on October 16, IPN reports.
Eight persons designated by six political parties are contending for the three seats of mayor. Three candidates are females, while five candidates are males.
The Central Election Commission said that 6,013 ballots were printed for the given elections at a total cost of 7,937.16 lei.
The voters who for health or other reasons cannot go to polling places can ask for a mobile ballot box. Applications can be submitted in written form by 6pm of the day prior to election day and by 3pm on election day if a medical certificate is presented.
In accordance with the Electoral Code, political campaigning is strictly banned on election day and a day before. In the period, candidates cannot appear in TV and radio programs. The ban does not apply to information posted on the internet and on boards earlier.
The CEC accredited 20 national observers on behalf of Promo-LEX Association for overseeing the snap mayoral elections.
According to the State Register of Voters, there were 6,003 citizens eligible to vote in the three localities on October 14.
Polls open at 7am and close at 9pm.
