After experiencing the misery of the floods, the inhabitants of Soroca town now face a new problem – the snakes.
A Soroca resident, Silvia Ghilas, has told Info-Prim Neo the stakes of different colors and lengths have been brought by the freshets. “They are mostly seen on cliffs. Staying on rocks, they don't seem embarrassed by the people's presence. Tens of snakes have been noticed on the local stadium. They climb on trees during the day, and fall as stones in the evening.”
The manager of a resort in the town, Sergiu Surd, confirms the information. He says his employees take steps to prevent those 200 resting children to suffer because of the invading reptiles.
These floods in Moldova are the largest in the last 100 years.
