SMS for users of AMPLUS network

Starting April 1, "Moldtelecom" JSC extends its services provided to the users of the AMPLUS network (CDMA wireless fixed telephony) with a new offer - "Short Messages" SMS. Thus, the clients will have the possibility to send or receive messages within AMPLUS fixed network; within the Unite mobile network or within other mobile networks in Moldova and to the users of international mobile services. SMSs sent to the users of the international mobile services will cost 1.8 lei, and those within the network, as well as those to Unite and other Moldovan mobile companies – 0.6 lei. The national mobile service provider “Moldtelecom” has already 60 thousand customers of AMPLUS Service, which provides services of fix phone at similar price to the traditional fix phone. The connection to this service is performed anywhere upon request: in rural area, in cities, at summerhouses, where there are no possibilities to connect through wire. The AMPLUS connection requires the same price as for the simple wire connection to fix phone. The clients also benefit free of charge of a special phone, needed for this standard. The launch of the CDMA 2000X fix phone service took place on December, 21, 2005. The new service appeals to those who could not make use due to technical reasons “Moldtelecom” phone services, primarily, the rural regions, but also some urban areas. The CDMA2000® 1X technology is a new standard for wireless phone of the third generation, is present on the market of over 60 countries all over the world, and has over 200 millions users. The advantages of this standard are the accessible prices, significantly reduced radio emissions (almost 10 times less in comparison to wire technologies), a universal service available for the majority of the population, Internet access up to 153 kbps and, last but not least – communication security.
