Small producers and SMEs will be protected by law from unfair commercial practices. The Cabinet approved a bill that bans practices that deviate from the good business conduct, are against equitable methods and are imposed unilaterally, IPN reports.

According to the authorities, unfair commercial practices frequently appear in the food supply chain and can be harmful primarily to smaller entrepreneurs, such as agricultural producers and SMEs processing food products. The approved document facilitates negotiations between suppliers of agricultural and food products (producers and processors) and buyers (shops) that offer these products to end users.

The law will protect the small producers from abusive clauses and will facilitate their access to the placing of products in shop chains all over the country.

The Cabinet also approved a law on the creation of the regulatory framework by which the Government will be able to institute fiscal monopoly in sectors where state intervention is required for correcting faults or for increasing control over a market of national or strategic interest.
