The sleet of January 3 and 4 didn’t lead to an increase in the number of road accidents. A single serious accident occurred in Chisinau on Wednesday, January 3, and a single person has been injured. Other 24 accidents took place on the same day without causing any injuries.
According to Road Inspector Ion Roscovanu, most of the accidents occurred because of the drivers’ negligence, who ignored the state of the roads, and also because drivers did not equip their cars with winter tyres.
Road Police say that it does not have any objections against the activity of the Chisinau road service. According to Roscovanu, the capital’s streets have been cleaned up in due time by the “Exdrupo” administration.
According to the data provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 4 road accidents happened in the republic on January 3. Three persons suffered injuries.
According to the data of the Chisinau Ambulance Service, 53 adults and 11 children have been injured on Wednesday. Doctors specified that, compared to the number of traumatisms registered usually, those registered on January 3 did not increase. As they say, the wet snow and the hoar frost on the streets did not lead to injuries for pedestrians.
Also on January 3, two stray died because of hypothermia, and in the morning of January 4, a man aged 46 died of the same cause in Sangera. He was found by his wife near the entrance to his house.
