Six villages in Moldova were chosen for the Pilot Project of agricultural land redistribution, which will be implemented until January 31, 2009 with the financial support of the World Bank and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
The six villages are: Buseuca (Rezina), Sadova (Calarasi), Calmatui (Hancesti), Bolduresti (Nisporeni), Opaci (Causeni) and Baimaclia (Cantemir).
The leader of the implementation team and representative of the Swedish company NIRAS AB, Morten Hartvigsen, said at a meeting with Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Anatolie Gorodenco that the villages for these projects were selected through a transparent process out of 100 suggested localities.
The immediate stages of the project implementation involve informing the farmers, hiring employees, organization of training seminars starting with October, said Morten Hartvigsen.
Anatolie Gorodenco emphasized the importance of the project being carried on successfully, since the year 2007 demonstrated the efficiency of the association, cooperation, implementation of the advanced technologies and crop rotation for the purpose of obtaining higher productivity.
“The outcomes deriving from the pilot project will enable extending the consolidation of the agricultural land in the whole republic”, said Gorodenco.
The pilot project of agricultural land redistribution was initiated on August 1, 2007.
