The Customs Service’s chief database specialist and two inspectors at the Sculeni Customs have been put under house arrest for 30 days. Two other intermediaries in the so-called “Customs Case” have also been arrested and placed in custody.
The Prosecutor General’s Ofifice said in a press release that a third customs inspector, who has been admitted to hospital, will also be put under house arrest for 30 days.
It was announced on March 18 that six Customs Service officers were apprehended on suspicion of systematically requesting money from foreign citizens for erasing or facilitating the erasure of entries from the national register of foreign cars.
