The European Union will offer €11.6 million for implementing four water supply and sewerage projects and two energy efficiency projects in the northern region of the country, IPN reports.

According to the North Regional Development Agency, water supply and sewerage networks will be extended and rehabilitated in the towns of Edinet, Falesti and Drochia and in six villages of Rascani district, namely Pascauti, Damascani, Proscureni, Galaseni, Malaiesti and Hiliuti.

The projects also envision the construction of drinking water treatment stations, water pumping stations and drinking water reservoirs. There will be installed hydrophore stations in multistory apartment buildings.

In Balti, the building of the Theoretical Lyceum “Dimitrie Cantemir” will be thermally insulated to ensure energy efficiency. In Flamanzeni village of Sangerei district, the building of the secondary school “Iurie Boghiu” will be thermally insulated.

The projects are to be implemented until the end of 2020.
