Six young Moldovans will get a chance to obtain an undergraduate degree in Slovakia, thanks to scholarships offered by the government in Bratislava. The six winners have been selected through a contest organized by the Slovak Embassy in Chisinau and have been presented today to a press conference at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, IPN reports.
Deputy Foreign Minister Lilian Darii said that this was the fourth year when the Ministry participated in the scholarship ceremony. “I want to congratulate the students. The winners have been selected through a contest organized by the Slovak Embassy and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research. I want to thank the Slovak Embassy and Ambassador, as well as the whole Slovak people for supporting young Moldovans who want to study abroad. I hope that these students will have the opportunity to return home and apply their acquired knowledge towards the development of the country”, said the official. He wished the scholarship winners good luck in their studies and to enjoy Slovakia.
Slovak Ambassador Robert Kirnag said that the scholarship is an award offered via transparent competition to young Moldovans who deserve it and it will cover the study expenses for the whole period of study.
“We were very careful and we selected the best candidates in fields that can help them return and contribute the economical development of Moldova. Based on the knowledge they will acquire in Slovakia, they will easily find a job here. The study won’t be easy, but nobody said it would. We promise you that you will receive proper education and that you will contribute to the competitiveness of Slovak universities by increasing competition among students. Remember that you will be living there so, besides studies, try to enjoy life in Slovakia”, said the diplomat.
The ceremony also included open discussions and experience exchanges with scholarship winners from previous years.
