Six candidates for mayor of Balti apply to be registered officially

The first six candidates for mayor of Balti municipality submitted the documents for being registered as election contenders. Six parties have so far presented the lists of candidates for seats on the Balti Municipal Council. Three independent candidates also applied to be registered as contenders for the post of councilor.
Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, the chairman of the electoral council Stanislav Sorbalo said that Vladimir Tonciuc, head of the PLDM's local organization in Balti, tops the list of candidates in the ballots for the mayoralty. He is followed by Oleg Topolnitski, a member of he PSD National Council and director of a private company. The third position is taken by Vadim Vacarciuc, deputy head of the PL's local organization, who had been vice president of the National Weightlifting Federation between 2008 and 2009. Vasile Panciuc, ex-mayor of Balti municipality (2001-2011), who was fielded by the PCRM, is the fourth in ballots. The last two candidates are Anatolie Harchenco, of the PDM, who heads the Balti local office of the State Chancellery, and jurist Igor Ciuru, deputy head of the PPCD's local organization in Balti.
The list in the ballots for councilors is headed by the PCRM. The PSD and the Party of Socialists “Patria Rodina” come next. The fourth and fifth positions are taken by independents Serghei Iordan and Alexandru Tureac. They are followed by the PLDM, independent candidate Nicolae Spanu, and another two parties – the PDM and PL.
The electoral council has seven days to examine the documents and register the election contenders.
