Moldova’s delegation to the Joint Control Commission (JCC) warns again the participants in the peacekeeping format about the further worsening of the situation in the Security Zone, IPN reports.
According to a statement made by the Moldovan delegation after the Commission’s November 21 meeting, on November 15 the so-called Transnistrian KGB spread the information that the Moldovan authorities are preparing a provocation in the Security Zone, especially in Bender town, where there is an increased security regime.
The Moldovan delegation presumes that the dissemination of this information by the Transnistrian side, which is tendentious and dubious, represents a reason for concern for the other delegations to the Joint Control Commission.
Therefore, the Moldovan delegation calls on the Transnistrian side to avoid actions that lead to the escalation of tensions in the Security Zone and asks the other delegations to the JCC to become involved in stabilizing the situation.
