The situation in the Democratic Party (PDM) is uncertain owing to the future government coalition, politologist Victor Juc stated for Info-Prim Neo. He said that two groups were created in the PDM – one led by Vlad Plahotniuc, Marian Lupu and Valeriu Lazar, and the other one headed by Dumitru Diacov. According to the politologist, for Marian Lupu and Vlad Plahotniuc the PDM represents a launchpad for entering or strengthening positions in politics. But for Dumitru Diacov, who founded the PDM, the disappearance of the party would mean the end of his political career. Diacov cares a lot about this party and understands that in a trilateral (PLDM – PDM – PL) formula, the PDM will remain a distinct entity, while with the PCRM it will lose its entity, Victor Juc said. The politologist stated that the PLDM's offer is good, but a little late. He also said that for the PLDM the most important post is the position of Prime Minister. The PDM would like to hold the post of President of Moldova. In case that Article 78 of the Constitution is not amended and the head of state is not elected, the Democrats will prefer the post of Speaker. The Liberal-Democrat leader Vlad Filat proposed that the Democratic Party should designate the President of Moldova, while the Liberal Party – the Head of Parliament.
