The situation in the Republic of Moldova was discussed by the Prime Minister of Romania Dacian Ciolos and German Chancellor Angela Merkel in a meeting in Berlin. The Romanian official noted that Romania continues to support Moldova’s European course, IPN reports, quoting the press service of the Government of Romania.

The discussions between the two officials centered on such topics as the regional and Eastern neighborhood policy of the European Union. In this connection, Dacian Ciolos assured that Romania will further support the European course of the Republic of Moldova. “Romania will support the Republic of Moldova. It will help it continue on its path of European integration. We hope that a Government will soon be formed in Chisinau so that the country does reforms too,” he stated.

On January 7, the Romanian Premier paid an official visit to Berlin, where he took part in a breakfast meeting held by Angela Merkel. The two officials discussed the priorities of the Romanian Government for this year, including the administration efficiency and reform, the long-term economic development strategy and the legislative, fiscal and financial predictability this year.
