Even if vaccination in any state of the world is encouraged, health officials said the administration of the two doses in different countries does not enable the immunized person to receive a single vaccine certificate, IPN reports.

“We encourage the persons who got the first shot in a country to receive the second dose also there so as to benefit from the standard certificate that enables to cross the border without problems,” deputy head of the Chisinau Health Division Boris Gâlca stated in the talk show “Moldova Live” on the public TV channel.

According to specialists of the National Public Health Agency, the Ministry of Health has vaccines needed for the citizens who were immunized with the first dose abroad to get the second dose in the Republic of Moldova. However, they will be issued with two different vaccine certificates.

“From medical viewpoint, we support vaccination with the second dose in the Republic of Moldova, but can provide the citizens who got the second dose only with a certificate for the second dose. This way, they will have two certificates, by one for each dose. The people should know that all the vaccine criteria and other variables introduced in the vaccine certificate can be different,” said epidemiologist Alexei Ceban, who is one of the coordinators of the national COVID-19 vaccination campaign.

“I urge the citizens to get a vaccine wherever they are so as to prevent the spread of infection, but they should assume responsibility for having two different certificates,” stated Alexei Ceban.

Starting with March 2, when the COVID-19 vaccination campaign started in Moldova, almost 420,000 persons or 10% of the population have been immunized. More than 100,000 persons got a vaccine the last seven days alone.
