The MPs of the parliamentary groups of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” and the Party of Action and Solidary proposed a simple motion against the Ministry of Home Affairs. According to the authors, this is not a motion by which they demand to dismiss the minister, but by this they request Parliament to take attitude to the work done by this Ministry, IPN reports.

“The citizens of the Republic of Moldova learn from the press about kidnappings by the so-called Transnistrian forces. The most recent case that left a deep impression of insecurity on the whole population of the Republic of Moldova is that of police officer Andrei Amarfi, an employee of the Florești Police Inspectorate, who was kidnapped in the morning of October 7 by criminal bodies of Tiraspol,” PPPDA MP Dinu Plîngău related in Parliament.

According to him, it was later found out that Andrei Amarfi’s kidnapping was not the only case of the kind and more citizens were actually kidnapped. Later they were accused of treason.

The authors of the simple motion also made reference to the case of Alexandru Rjavitin, who went missing on December 19, 2019. It should be noted that Alexandru Rjavitin, who was drafted into the paramilitary bodies on the left side of the Nistru in August 2015, managed to evade, complaining about serious abuses and human rights violations. In December 2019, Alexandru Rjavitin disappeared from his own home. He was later featured in a report by a local TV channel, where he says he enjoys better living conditions and welcomes the attitude of his superiors and mates.

“We conclude by saying that the Ministry of Home Affairs’ policy during the last year was disastrous and by this the activity of paramilitary groups that kidnapped citizens of the Republic of Moldova were tolerated as were the elements and cases of corruption inside the Ministry, which weren’t investigated,” stated Dinu Plîngău.

The motion authors demanded to present a report on the combating of the activity of the Transnistrian paramilitary groups, to work out and present a clear and coherent agenda on the training of the Ministry’s employees and the measures to protect these in security zones and to design a concrete action plan for fighting crime, ensuring the rule of law, maintaining public order, ensuring the observance of human rights and freedoms.

The MPs also demand that the Ministry’s administration should provide Parliament with explanations about the recently disseminated recordings that generate reasonable suspicions as to the presence of corruptible elements among the Ministry’s managers.
