Independent candidate for mayor of Chisinau Silvia Radu, ex-acting mayor, said Chisinau will be in a political zone for at least one more year. Commenting on the preliminary results of the May 20 elections in a press briefing, Silvia Radu said the runoff vote will be fully political, IPN reports.
Silvia Radu thanked all those who voted and ensured the required voter turnout and those who voted for her. She said Ion Ceban and Andrei Nastase, who will compete in the runoffs, got good results because they have parties behind and these managed to mobilize the voters in their favor.
Silvia Radu also said she was disappointed wih the very low voter turnout. She voiced hope that the future mayor will deal more with the problems of the citizens of Chisinau rather with politics.
About her future plans, Silvia Radu said she does not yet have political projects.
