Igor Dodon’s campaign committee has submitted the signatures and other documentation required to register him in the presidential race. The Central Election Commission has seven days to verify them and decide on the registration.
So far the CEC has registered Renato Usatîi of Our Party, Andrei Năstase of the Dignity and Truth Party, and Tudor Deliu of the Liberal Democratic Party.
At the same time, the CEC rejected the registration of Pro Moldova Party’s Andrian Candu. The Commission explained that the number of signatures collected by Candu’s team, while sufficient in total, didn’t meet the geographical representation requirement. Candu complained that the CEC invalidated a significant portion of the submitted signatures and promised to fight “for every one” of them in court.
