There were collected 39 signatures for proposing a bill to amend the Constitution and remove the parliamentary immunity, Speaker Andrian Candu stated in the April 8 sitting of Parliament, IPN reports.

“Next Monday (April 11), the bill will be sent to the Constitutional Court for appraisal and immediately afterward it will be included in the legislative procedure,” said the official.

Andrian Candu also said that a bill to amend the Election Code’s provisions concerning the election of the President was also drafted. This will be remitted to the Venice Commission next Monday too. As the Ministry of Justice said, the bill could be appraised by June. It will be introduced in Parliament afterward.

As to the law called symbolically “Big brother”, regarding the regulation of the use of information technology, the Speaker said this didn’t yet reach Parliament, but when it does, broad public debates will be staged on this. The bill will also be submitted to the Council of Europe for examination and will not be adopted without this appraisal.
