Nearly one hundred simultaneous searches were conducted this morning at the territorial organizations of the Shor Party. The evidence collected from the party’s local secretaries and administrators included receipts and correspondence allegedly proving illegal financing for the party.
According to the National Anti-corruption Center, officers seized memory devices, mobile phones, laptops and other hardware presumably containing such evidence, which will be examined in conjunction with other information available in the case.
The party reacted by denouncing the searches as “abusive and illegal”, and the entire case as politically motivated and on orders from President Maia Sandu.
Last week, Parliament stripped MP Marina Tauber, one the Shor Party leaders, of immunity from prosecution and shortly after she was placed under preventive arrest for 30 days.
