The judicial system showed to society once again how defective it is and how vulnerable it is before political orders, the Shor Party says in a statement. According to the party, the fining of Ilan Shor for alleged irregularities in the election campaign in Chisinau is an additional proof of the fact that pressure is exerted on the Shor Party.

“The distorting of the situation concerning the Shor Party’s candidates in the parliamentary elections Ilan Shor during many years is a conclusive example. The rising popularity of Ilan Shor’s team and the implementation of tens of infrastructure and social projects bother the political opponents and these thus struggle against the party nonstop. Regrettably, two of the applied instruments are the courts of law and the Central Election Commission,” says the party’s statement.

The Shor Party will not stop its active work and will continue to promote and support the social program that is designed to bring social welfare for the country’s citizens. The party will work a lot to secure its victory in Parliament and to continue the infrastructure projects in the country.

The Centru branch of the Chisinau City Court passed a decision by which the leader of the Shor Party Ilan Shor, mayor of Orhei, was fined for using foreign funds in the election campaign. The sentence was pronounced following a complaint filed by the president of the National Unity Party Anatol Șalaru, who in summer requested the Prosecutor General’s Office to determine if the Shor Party tried to hide or hid the identity of persons who made donations to it in the campaign prior to the Chisinau local mayoral elections. Anatol Șalaru said then that Ilan Shor spent money he received from Moscow and this fact was confirmed by the court of law that excluded the party’s candidate for the mayoralty of Chisinau Reghina Apostolova from the race.
