The Political Party “Our Party” (PPPN) should be voted at the parliamentary elections of February 24 because it showed that it can clear the state institutions of corruption, the Shor Party because it will build the state of social welfare, the People’s Movement Antimafie because it will jail the mafia, while the National Liberal Party (PNL) because it is a party with unionist identity and a sincere team. Messages to the voters were formulated by candidates of the four parties in the public debate “Elections 2019: Please elect me MP because...”, which was the 102nd installment of the series “Developing political culture through public debates” staged by IPN News Agency on January 31, 2019.
Ilian Cașu, of the Our Party, said the party he represents is a young one, but it has always been on barricades, struggled and showed professionalism at the local level and that it can work for the people’s benefit under the pressure of the regime and with limited resources. “It is one thing to be in Parliament and talk nonstop and it is another thing to be present at the local level in the Republic of Moldova and to solve people’s problems. We showed that we can clear the state institutions of corruption and will continue doing this and count a lot on your support,” stated the candidate.
Daniela Bodrug, of the People’s Movement Antimafie, said the party entered the election campaign amid the humiliating conditions to which the citizens and the parties that want to implement the ideologies based on which they were formed were subject. Antimafie will extend the oasis of liberalism, the pro-Western and pro-Romanian views and will jail bank robbers, criminals and the mafia. “We entered the campaign with the slogan “It’s time to say no!”. You should say “no” to Plahotniuc, Dodon, Shor and the ‘remnants’ of Filat as the so-called opposition is a nursery where Plahotniuc grows new staff. We want you not to regret your vote as you did in 2014,” stated Daniela Bodrug.
Marina Tauber, of the Shor Party, noted her party does not want to tell the people who to vote for as they have the right to choose freely. Time has come for new, young forces that have an already tested program to come to power. “We showed our capacity, our visions and wish. The people are the greatest value for us. I’m proud to represent the Shor Party, which is a party of young managers. Together with you, dear people, we will build the state of social welfare, “Moldova a dream country” , as we did in Orhei town and in Jora de Mijloc commune. We offer you and ask you to take your fate in your hands,” said Marina Tauber, addressing the voters.
Vitalia Pavlichenko, of the PNL, said the current election campaign is disastrous and involves persons that defy the common sense by what they say and do. What is happening is unimaginable mockery when thieves want to govern. The people should not vote parties and candidates without an identity, a message, which know only how to buy the despair with electoral alms. “If you accept alms and give your vote to a thief, tomorrow this will rob your house. Think well so as not to compromise our Romanian and European future. Vote the PNL as we resisted and always told you the truth. Vote the union arrow and a team that will not disappoint you and will not buy votes,” stated the politician.
The electoral contenders are invited to the electoral debates held by IPN Agency in accordance with the order in which they were registered by the Central Election Commission. The debates on January 30 involved representatives of the electoral bloc ACUM, the Party of Communists and the Party of Socialists. The Democratic Party didn’t respond to the invitation to attend the debate.
Candidates of the People’s Will Party, the Party of Regions of Moldova, the Party “Democracy at Home” and the Professionals’ Movement “Speranța-Nadejda” confirmed their participation in the debate scheduled for February 4.
The series of debates “Elections 2019: Please elect me MP because...”, forms part of the series of public debates held by IPN News Agency as part of the project “Developing political culture through public debates” that is supported by the Hanns Seidel Foundation of Germany.
