Shopping MallDova to open first multiplex in Moldova

Shopping MallDova, the first shopping center built according to international standards in Moldova, prepared a new surprise for the Chisinau residents and the visitors of the city – a multiplex cinema, the company says in a communiqué sent to Info-Prim Neo. The cinema has 6 halls and a capacity of over 900 places. It forms part of the Patria cinema chain and is the first of the kind in Moldova. The multiplex provides excellent sound and video quality. All the halls are outfitted with modern equipment, modern acoustic screens, ceilings with a high level of acoustic absorption and excellent acoustic isolation. The new cinema halls have sofas, reclining chairs and ultramodern and comfortable tables. The 6 cinema halls occupy an area of 3,000 square meters. There will be also opened a café selling soft drinks, popcorn and sweet caramelized popcorn as well as a specialized shop where the moviegoers could purchase the best licensed films. The screenings at the multiplex cinema in Shopping MallDova will start every 15-20 minutes so that the spectators will not have to wait for 1.5 – 2 hours. “The inauguration of the multiplex at Shopping MallDova marks the progress of our development plan in our country. The new cinema will complement the recreational activities held at Shopping MallDova,” said Vicentiu Spataru, director general of ICS Lemi Invest SA. The multiplex will also show digital and 3D movies – a novelty for Moldova. The 3D screenings in Chisinau will start with the animated blockbuster 'Monsters vs. Aliens’ made by the producers of the famous ‘Shrek’ and ‘Madagascar’. The greatest 3D surprise this year will be the hit ‘Ice Age 3: Dinosaur Era’, which will have its world premiere this summer, and a new movie by the ‘Titanic’ producer James Cameron – the science fiction blockbuster ‘Avatar’ in December this year, the communiqué from Shopping MallDova says.
